This is a vintage fire emergency telephone housed in a wooden box. The receiver is made of black bakelite and sits on top of the box. The box itself is made of wood, stained a reddish-brown colour. A crank handle is located on the side of the box, presumably to generate power for the telephone. There is a small red button also on the box. A small plaque with directions is visible on the front. The condition is good, with some signs of wear commensurate with age. This unique piece would be a conversation starter in a home office or library.
