This is a Victorian Collar and Cuff Crimper for pleating and ruffling freshly laundered and starched cuffs and collars.. It is made primarily of brass, with a turned bone handle. The machine features a pair of rollers, that would have been used to press the pasta, with a decorative frame. The base is made of wood, and the machine is adorned with ornate cast iron detailing. The item has a warm, aged patina on the brass, commensurate with its age. The wooden base has some wear, and the bone handle has yellowed slightly. This unique and interesting item would be a great decorative piece for a kitchen or dining room.
