This is a Royal Doulton character jug titled 'The Huntsman,' model number D6562. The jug is made of hand-painted ceramic and depicts a stout huntsman wearing a red riding jacket, tan breeches, black boots and hat. He is holding a riding crop in his right hand. The base is a black gloss, and marked 'Royal Doulton The Huntsman.' The jug is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. This would display well in a living room, home office or library.
