This is a vintage tribal mask originating from Cameroon or Gabon, used by the Ngui Gorilla secret society. It features a hand-carved wooden skull with pronounced facial features, including large round eyes, teeth and stylised nose. The mask rests on a woven rattan base. There are visible signs of age and use, including wear to the wooden surfaces and some damage to the rattan weaving.
