Large Hand-Carved Wooden Face Wall Mask

A large hand-carved wooden wall mask with a bold elongated face, deeply modelled nose and brow, and open eye and mouth shapes. The warm polished finish highlights the natural grain and knots of the timber, giving it strong sculptural presence.

Fitted with hanging wire to the reverse. Its specific maker and geographic origin are unknown, so it is described as a decorative carved mask rather than attributed to a particular culture.
