Hornsea Potteries, founded in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson, quickly rose from creating seaside trinkets to becoming the largest studio pottery in the world, employing over 700 people.

With groundbreaking designs and techniques, Hornsea became a beloved name in British ceramics.

Although the company ceased trading in 2000, Magpie has revived some of Hornsea’s most iconic designs, starting with the works of John Clappison.
