This hand-carved wooden mask is inspired by traditional Shona artistry. Its abstract design combines multiple carved faces with a highly polished dark finish and contrasting textured areas.
The sculptural helmet form has stylised faces carved in relief around the body and a raised central crest across the domed top. The timber shows age-related weathering, including drying cracks, minor surface loss and small holes around the lower rim. Please refer to the photographs for condition.
