Dobbie McInnes No 4 Engine Indicator with Original Case and Manuals

This Dobbie McInnes No 4 engine indicator represents a superb piece of industrial and maritime history. Manufactured by the prominent Glasgow instrument maker Dobbie McInnes Limited, this scientific instrument is housed in its original fitted wooden case. The lid features the distinctive blue and black Dobbie McInnes metal plate, while the interior retains its wooden holding bar and slot storage.

The set includes vintage printed documentation, including manuals for 'No. 4 Engine Indicator', references to 'The Farnboro' Indicator', and a red booklet titled 'The Engine Indicator with Specimen Diagrams Showing Engine Faults'. The mechanical instrument itself, alongside its auxiliary components, displays expected age-related wear including minor tarnishing to the metal surfaces and scuffing to the wooden box. This piece is sold as seen and untested, making it an ideal acquisition for display, historical research, or specialist collectors of engineering instruments.
