Antique Mahogany Chest of Drawers

This is an antique mahogany chest of drawers, circa late 19th century. The chest features a rectangular top with a rounded edge over 5  short and three long graduated drawers. Each drawer has turned wooden knobs with brass lock escutcheons. The chest is raised on a plinth base. This is a unique chest with 4 shallow drawers and one central deep hat drawer made to look like to shallow drawers. The mahogany has a rich, warm brown colour and the surface has a polished finish. The chest is in good condition for its age, with some minor scratches and wear to the finish commensurate with age and use. This chest of drawers would be a practical and stylish addition to a bedroom or living room, providing ample storage space.
