W and T Avery Ltd Brass Balance Scales on Wooden Base

A set of brass balance scales by W & T Avery Ltd, Birmingham, mounted on a polished wooden base. The balance beam features stamped maker lettering and supports a hanging brass pan on suspension chains alongside a curved brass arm holding a shallow plate.

The wooden base houses a stack of graduated nesting brass weights at the foot of the central brass column. Visible surface wear includes light scratching, tarnish, and minor tarnished spotting across the brass elements, consistent with age and decorative use.
