This vintage wooden radio cabinet is a fascinating salvage piece from the early-to-mid 20th century. The front features a distinctive decorative fretwork cut-out panel. The top of the cabinet has two semi-circular metal gauge plates numbered 0-180 and 0-100, which originally sat behind radio dials. The back panel retains two original black metal plaques, reading 'This Instrument has been manufactured under Licence from Standard Telephones and Cables, Ltd.' and directions regarding British Valves.
The cabinet is empty of its original internal electronics and mechanism, displaying historic wear and tear. There is significant surface scratching, fading, and visible staining on the lower exterior wood. This item is sold as seen and untested, making it a compelling candidate for a creative upcycling project, a display prop, or a collector's restoration piece.
