This Vintage William Cowan Ltd. Belfast Irish whisky advertising poster dates from the 1910s, promoting "Cowan's Finest Old Irish Whisky". The poster is mounted on a board and covered with a clear protective film, measuring 60cm x 45cm. The central illustration depicts a gentleman in a hat, green jacket, and yellow breeches, raising a glass of whisky and holding a bottle. A crowned wooden barrel, marked "No. 4" and "Established 1829", highlights the whisky's heritage. The cream background is framed by a red border adorned with stylised shamrock motifs. Text includes "Begorra it's Cowan's" and "Recommended by the leading Medical Faculty as the finest whisky in the world", reflecting early 20th-century advertising styles.
Condition notes: The poster shows visible creasing and wear along the top edge, particularly the top left corner. There is significant creasing and damage to the red border in the bottom right corner. The protective film exhibits obvious glare and reflection, especially on the bottom right. This Irish breweriana poster is suitable for display in a home bar, man cave, or as a collectible for enthusiasts of vintage advertising.
