We have a range of the beautifully simple textiles from TENSIRA in stock. Their fabrics are made in a small town in Guinea where they have a centuries old indigo dyeing tradition. All of their products are completely hand-made in Africa - hand-spun, hand-woven, and hand-dyed cotton.
These mattresses are filled with Kapok, a silky 100% natural fibre. This fibre grows in the shell of the Kapok tree, known as the “cotton-silk” tree due to the very silky feel of the fibre. The picking, shelling and filling of the mattresses are done entirely by hand.
They are the perfect accompaniment for a picnic; laid on a benches; piled on a lounger, or used indoors for cosying up by the fire.
The Brand Story:
TENSIRA, founded in 2010 by Hamidou Diallo, Guinean origin and Tuulia Makinen Diallo, Finnish origin.
Tensira is an unique expression of centuries-old Guinean know-how of weaving and indigo dying and Nordic design.
