Each handcrafted piece is a one of a kind exploration into traditional decorative techniques and sculptural forms. Consists of sculpted knots over a series of reclaimed metal rings, completed with a 3 ply cotton twist. Designed to transform any space! These chandeliers add drama with the lights on or off.
For this Blue Macramé Pendant Light shade the cotton has been naturally dyed by hand & the ends have been individually gilded with silver.

Alison is a self-taught macramé artist with a background in fine arts, consequently Professionally practicing since 2016 as ASTRL Fibres. Alison also describes herself as a lifelong creative, inspired by her rich family history of accomplished craftspeople. Decorative arts, geometric pattern and interior design are key themes of influence in Alison’s practice as show above.
Alison is a member of the Heritage Crafts Association as well as listed in the Craft NI Makers Directory. In addition she is a member of the Decowell team of Belfast based conservation and restoration specialists.
