Hornsea Potteries, established in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson, grew from crafting seaside trinkets to becoming the largest studio pottery in the world, employing over 700 people.

Renowned for their innovative techniques and iconic designs, Hornsea gained widespread popularity and became a cherished name in British ceramics.

Although the company ceased trading in 2000, Magpie has revived some of Hornsea’s most celebrated designs, starting with the works of John Clappison.
