This small-scale landscape painting depicts a fast-flowing river beside a small cabin, set against a dramatic backdrop of distant, snow-dusted mountains. Executed in a traditional style with a muted palette of greens, greys and earth tones, the piece is housed in an ornate gold-tone moulded frame.
The reverse of the frame features a vintage paper label from F.G. Davis & Sons Ltd, picture framers and art dealers of North Street Arcade, Belfast. Handwritten inscriptions on the backing paper attribute the work as 'Chien Khan Oil on Board circa 1958'. It makes a highly decorative addition to a study, hallway or library shelf.
