James Drummond
Born in Edinburgh 1816 and died in 1877. He studied at Edinburgh Academy with Sir William Allan. First exhibited at Scottish Academy in 1835, associate in 1846 , member in 1852. Appointed curator of Scottish National Gallery in 1868 and a member of the society of antiquaries. Great attention to detail with which he made prominent noticeable features embodied in antiquities. He also executed drawings of old Edinburgh and ancient Scottish arms.
