Hornsea Potteries, founded in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson, transitioned from producing seaside trinkets to becoming the largest studio pottery in the world, employing over 700 people.

Known for its innovative designs and groundbreaking techniques, Hornsea was a beloved name in British ceramics for over 50 years.

Although Hornsea closed in 2000, Magpie has revived some of its most iconic designs, starting with the works of John Clappison.
