William Clarke & Sons Ltd was an Irish tobacco company founded 1830 and were a major retailer of pipe tobacco within the British Isles. Based in South Main Street, Cork they already had an extensive tobacconist business in Cork City by the 1870’s. The Clarke’s also ran a chandler’s business at 70 and 71 South Main Street.
