After much looking for sustainable, ethcial basket ware & home furnishings I found @thebasketroom & the lovely team behind this community driven business.

They do fantastic work throughout Africa, finding weaving communities: women plying their precious trade as their mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers did. These baskets help ensure that daughters and granddaughters will continue to weave, receive fair wages & better working conditions.

When I first got a 'proper' store in 2012 on Wellington Place, we had a variety of upcycled, repurposed & artisan homewares on sale. We also held pop-up shows for themed products.
These pics are from the '50 shades of grey' popup in 2012, whereby 10 makers chose a vintage piece and 'refound' it with shades of grey 🙂
Back then, we made a certificate to accompany each piece that explained the process of repurposing or restyling. Here is 4 of these backstories.
And I still love the story-telling aspect of vintage, antiques & upcycling.
BTW.... A nice little link was that the lovely Jamie Doran bought one of our earliest refounds when he was here filming The Fall !! #justsaying
