Antique Dublin Sikes Hydrometer

A Sikes Hydrometer kit in a velvet lined, wooden box. The box features an inlay which reads, "Sikes' Hydrometer M. Jordi & Co. Ltd. 31 Lower Ormond Quay Dublin". This set is missing the thermometer but all other pieces are present. One of the hinges on the box is unscrewed but this could be easily repaired.

This Sikes hydrometer set would have been made after the 1816 act of Parliament that replaced the Clarkes hydrometer as the standard method of measuring wines & spirits by Excise officers.
