It’s time for a new artist showcase at On the Square Emporium! This one has a very familiar theme to anyone in the area. Art and memorabilia come together in this exhibit to evoke nostalgic memories of Barry’s and the North Coast.
Paul Gallagher
The featured artist for this exhibit is Paul Gallagher. Paul began his artistic career after earning a BA Hons Degree in 3D Product & Spatial Design. Following a successful teaching tenure, he retired early in 2015 to focus on his personal artistic pursuits.
Inspired by the landscapes of the North Coast, Paul works from his self-built garden studio. While he occasionally undertakes interior design projects, his main focus remains on his artistic endeavours. His work has been showcased both locally and internationally.
As a result of diverse skills from woodworking to mosaics, Paul’s work is bursting with texture. His paintings come alive on the canvas, and his multi-media dioramas speak for themselves.
The pieces we will be showing during this showcase are bound to make your feel nostalgic for the good old days of spinning on carousels and careening down the Helter Skelter.
The Event
If you like the sound of all that, why not come to the launch day of this artist showcase? On Saturday 11th May there will be drinks and nibbles from 12pm-4pm. If you want to ask Paul any questions about his art, the Meet the Artist live Q&A will begin at 2pm. We can’t wait to see you!
If you can’t make it to see these stunning artworks in person, you can check the whole collection out here.
