This is an antique presentation shield, dating back to June 11th, 1904. The shield is made of brass and is shaped like a traditional shield with a pointed bottom and a decorative top edge. The front of the shield features an engraved inscription, which reads: "OFFICERS CHAIRS ALTAR AND PEDESTALS PRESENTED BY ... P.P.S.G.W. DOWN. CHAIRMAN OF THE BUILDING COMMITTEE TO THE BRETHERN OF BALLYMACARRET 11TH JUNE 1904".

The shield has a warm, golden-brown patina with some darker areas, reflecting its age and history. There are some minor surface marks and wear consistent with its age. It has 4 mounting holes, one in each corner.

This presentation shield would make a interesting piece of decor for a home bar or study, adding a touch of historical charm to the space.
