Vintage 1981 Soviet NBC-81 Gas Mask

This is a vintage Soviet NBC-81 gas mask, dated 1981. This mask appears to be a variant of the Soviet ShMS gas mask and would have been designed to protect its user against nuclear, biological and chemical threats. Features include a hood, integrated breathing tubes, and a front-mounted filter canister connection. The mask is in fair condition, showing signs of age and use including wear and discoloration. The straps are intact but may show wear. A stamp on the interior dates it to 1981. This item is a rare find for military collectors. Display item only.
