This is a vintage military storage box. The box is constructed from wood and reinforced with metal edges. It features a metal handle on top for carrying. The box is painted in green with yellow stencilled markings which indicate it was used for 9mm ammunition. The markings include 'S75 CART 9MM BALL MK 2z CTN K31.12.57'. There is a white stencilled circle which contains the number 6 and the words 'Government Safety Explosive Class W+D'. The box is weathered with signs of age and use, including rust and paint wear, which add to its vintage charm. The interior is unpainted, revealing the natural wood. The lid can be removed fully. It would make a nice decorative item or for military memorabilia collectors.
