Hornsea Potteries, established in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson, grew from producing seaside trinkets to becoming the largest studio pottery in the world, employing over 700 people.

Renowned for its innovative designs and groundbreaking techniques, Hornsea became a celebrated name in British ceramics.

Although the company ceased trading in 2000, Magpie has revived some of Hornsea’s most iconic designs, starting with the works of John Clappison.

As avid mid-century design enthusiasts, Magpie is proud to preserve Hornsea’s legacy and share its timeless appeal with future generations.
