Israeli military manufacture, with Hebrew markings. The Galil was introduced in 1972 and is widely accepted as one of the best infantry assault rifles ever designed. This is the SAR (Short Assault Rifle) version in 5.56mm NATO. The 5.56mm version has been adopted by more than twenty countries, including Israel, Portugal (Elite Airborne, Commando and Special Forces) and South Africa. The action is a copy of the Kalashnikov, and they are extremely reliable, like the AK, but much more accurate and user friendly. All deactivated weapons sold by D and B Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold London or Birmingham proof marks and a certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly.
