Hornsea Potteries, founded in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson, quickly became a leader in British ceramics, transforming from crafting seaside trinkets to becoming the largest studio pottery in the world, employing over 700 people.

Renowned for their innovative designs and techniques, Hornsea gained widespread acclaim and popularity.

Although the company ceased trading in 2000, Magpie has revived some of Hornsea’s most iconic designs, beginning with the works of John Clappison.
