Hornsea Potteries, established in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson, evolved from crafting seaside trinkets to becoming the largest studio pottery in the world, employing over 700 people.

Though the company closed in 2000, Magpie has brought back some of Hornsea’s most iconic designs, beginning with the works of John Clappison.
