Hornsea Potteries, established in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson, rose from crafting seaside trinkets to becoming the largest studio pottery in the world, employing over 700 people.

Known for its groundbreaking designs and techniques, Hornsea became a beloved name in British ceramics.

Although Hornsea ceased trading in 2000, Magpie has revived some of its most iconic designs, starting with the works of John Clappison.
