Hornsea Potteries, founded in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson, transformed from producing seaside trinkets to becoming the largest studio pottery in the world, employing over 700 people.

Although the company ceased trading in 2000, Magpie has revived some of Hornsea’s most iconic designs, beginning with the works of John Clappison.
