“We knew we had something special when dealers started calling months in advance to secure their spots,” reflects Justin Lowry, Proprietor of On The Square Emporium. “But seeing it all come together, with the buzz of excited collectors and families enjoying themselves, was truly magical.”
More Than Just Antiques
While the star attractions were undoubtedly the 40+ vetted dealers showcasing everything from fine antique furniture to scientific oddities, the fair offered much more than traditional antiquing. Families delighted in the bouncy castle, face-painting stations, and classic fairground games like hook-a-duck and ring-toss. “Hosting our first fair at our future home felt right,” explains Event Coordinator Chrissi Ferris. “It gave people a preview of what’s to come while creating new memories in a space that’s been part of the community for decades.”
Community Spirit
Perhaps the most heartwarming aspect of the weekend was the sense of community it fostered. Local food vendors served up delicious treats, while a specialty coffee cart kept energy levels high. The pet-friendly policy meant many visitors brought their four-legged friends, adding to the relaxed, inclusive atmosphere.
With admission at just £2 for both adults and children, and the acceptance of both cash and card payments, the fair was accessible to all.
