This Japanese tea set has a secret – like a ghost, as you finish your cuppa, you’ll notice the clear image of a woman appear at the bottom of your cup.
Geisha lithophane pocelain cups were first created in the Kutani region of Japan in the late 1800’s, and production continued until the 1950’s. The porcelain is thin and the spooky image at the bottom of the cup is created using a varying thickness of porcelain.
