About the Print Sisters Archive….

The archive is one of the largest privately owned collections of textile design artworks and curated by 2 sisters, based in London. The archive is sensational in both its originality and diversity, and has been lovingly archived since it came to us in 2015. It displays a beautiful variety of craftsmanship with the earliest piece dating 1826 inside a French textile swatch book.

The designs include hand painted, fabric swatches and paper artworks which have been, restored, reworked and revived to create our online collection celebrating textile craftmanship. We have reworked use the archival motifs to create textiles for bespoke projects, wallpapers and textiles to transform modern homes. This collection of poster prints, was originally created using carved wood block techniques adding the beautiful mottled printing texture. Larger scale paper artworks were created in a French textile mill in Lyon, famous for its production of luxury textiles. Designs were printed and catalogued on paper first, before going into the textile production . The text you see on each print is the order number of the design in the makers catalogue, the number of block print plates corresponding to the colour layers and often there’s the date of the first print edition.

In our reworked versions, we only use sustainable products and environmentally friendly processes. All our products are created in limited quantities, making them even more precious!
